Blipsong is a music guessing game built around a simple question: how little of a song do you need to recognize it? Listen to a short preview, then type its title. You have six chances.
Your six listens
The clip grows after each wrong guess or skip: 0.1, 0.5, 1, 2, 5 and 10 seconds. All clips start at the same point in the source preview. That point is not necessarily the beginning of the full song.
The first clip is only 0.1 seconds long — the round opens with a guess the song in 0.1 seconds challenge. By your third listen you are trying to guess the song in 1 second, and the last clip runs a full 10 seconds.
Press Play to hear your current clip. You can replay it without spending a chance. A successful listen unlocks Guess and Skip. An empty answer does not count. On the sixth wrong answer or skip, the song is revealed.
Daily or Unlimited?
Daily gives everyone the same track for the same UTC date. The date changes at 00:00 UTC, which may be a different time in your country. Your completed Daily cannot be replayed for a new score on this browser. Unlimited lets you start another song immediately; it does not change your Daily streak.
What counts as a correct title?
Capitalization, punctuation and accents do not matter. Only recognized labels inside trailing parentheses (...) or square brackets [...] are ignored: remaster / remastered, live, acoustic, demo, remix, radio edit, feat. / ft. / featuring / with guest credits, and Taylor’s Version. Words in the title body are never removed: include unbracketed credits and dash-separated version text as shown. “With or Without You” and “Live and Let Die” stay complete. A small curated list also accepts common alternate titles. We do not accept arbitrary partial titles, artist names alone, or every nickname.
What if the audio does not work?
A failed preview costs no chance. Retry, check your volume or try a different browser. Daily never silently switches to another song. In Unlimited, you can explicitly choose another track if one is unavailable.
Is 0.1 seconds exact?
It is the target, not a sample-accurate promise. Device buffering and browser timing affect the audible result, particularly in Safari. Open Playback check below the player to compare the requested duration with the media clock. That clock is a diagnostic, not an acoustic measurement.
Share without spoiling
Your share card contains the date, attempts and colored tiles, but never the answer. Orange means correct, blue means an incorrect guess and the pale tile means skipped. Streaks are stored only in this browser.
